The Consumer Stuff Challenge Competition is an annual event run by Consumer Affairs Victoria to help young Victorians understand
important consumer issues. The competition challenges students to create an information product that addresses a consumer
or financial topic (e.g. selecting a mobile phone, buying a second hand car or managing credit). The contest is free to enter
and open to all Victorian secondary schools and adult and community education settings. There are two divisions for the competition,
one for students in years 11 and 12 studying for the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), and another for Year
7-10 students studying within the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) curriculum framework. The VCAL competition
closes on 7, August 2008, and the VELS competition closes on 17 October, 2008.
